This project is featuring wide angle urban sketches of the Qingpu district in Taoyuan, Taiwan. These sketches were created outdoors and later colored at home. The sketchbook showcases my impressions of the area through watercolor paintings.
Taoyuan Qingpu panoramic views.
I used a sketchbook from the brand 'BAOHONG', which I purchased at an art store in Taiwan. The paper in this sketchbook is particularly well-suited for coloring. I used my favorite refillable fountain pen, the 'Lamy Safari', along with a G-pen nib and carbon black ink to create the sketches in this book
In the sketch above, I used a G-nib pen and carbon ink to capture the scene in front of me. I was sitting in a small park near three stations: an elevated metro station up above, a bus station waiting zone below, and on the right, you can see part of the ventilation system from an underground fast train station.
In Qingpu district, there are three elevated metro stations: A17, A18, and A19. The sketch above shows the A17 station.
Here is the view from metro station. On the left far can see baseball stadium, on the front is shopping mall and playground.
Opposite to previous picture here we can see metro station from shopping mall playground. Here is very cozy atmosphere, can see young families with kids.
Medicine center where I got my AZ vaccines.
Panorama view from 4 floor in IKEA, I used G-pen with carbon ink.
Breakfast cafe, have fantastic cake and coffee.
My house basement, love to sketch pipes and cables, reminds me the Akira manga.
Another view from metro station in Qingpu. Did you notice those bird?
This sketch depicts a wonderful calligraphy park on a windy, rainy day. Fortunately, I was able to take shelter under the canopy of some banyan trees while sketching. The park is a peaceful and serene place, even on a less than ideal weather day.
“Weili Soul Studio” is very nice house of young family of artists, painter and wood maker. They making regular art workshops with invited artists to pay rent and support community.
This sketch shows the HSR bus station on the left and the elevated metro station A18 in the front. I love these futuristic constructions in my district. They add a modern and sleek touch to the area.
If you want to see the drawing process for this sketchbook, check out my YouTube video where I share some perspective tips as well. You can watch me create these sketches from start to finish and get a better sense of my artistic process.
I am still working on this sketchbook and will be updating this project with more pages soon. Below, you can see a Google map with the places that have been sketched in this book and those that I plan to sketch in the future. Thanks for following along!
Best regards, Evgeny Bondarenko.
